It all started like this. Ever since I was quite young, I loved the idea of jumpsuits, even before their recent resurgence in popularity. I can’t explain what it was, but something about a head-to-toe, one-piece, pantsuit look just tickled my fancy early on. Despite that, I never, in my adult life at least, owned one. I was either too nervous (Would they really look good in real life?), or they were too expensive (I hate spending money!). Then, I chanced on one in the clearance section at H&M here in Taipei (thank goodness for international clothing stores).
After purchasing said jumpsuit, it lived in the store bag, receipt kept close at hand, for over a month until finally I realized I’d missed the return-by-date and might as well make it work. Last Sunday, I wore it for the first time.
I was helping host a baby shower and wanted to look both dressy and casual at the same time. It took me a few tries, and some help from the hubby, to find the perfect shoe and belt combo, but once we did, this outfit was perfect. Toward the end of the day, I realized I was at a baby shower basically wearing the equivalent of an adult onesie. Even more perfect (albeit humorous)!
I didn’t get any photos on Sunday, but I loved the outfit so much that I felt it necessary to document it a couple days later, so necessary that I dug it out of the laundry pile. It was dirty after a long day of fun but totally worth it for these photos, even if I am wearing dirty laundry. Don’t worry, it went in the washing machine immediately afterward.
I think that this jumpsuit will quickly become one of my favorite Spring outfits. As long as it’s clean, of course. It’s cute and lightweight while still offering full coverage from the sun. An added bonus? It feels like wearing pajamas except even better. But that makes sense since, like I said, it’s practically a onesie.
